The department of cardiac catheterization / interventional cardiology consist of 4 cath labs with state of art facilities, cineless system and CD dicom facility. The anciliary facilities include I A B P,  I V U S and Rotablader. NICVD is a high volume tertiary care center with over three thousand coronary angiographies, cardiac caths and EP studies are carried out every year. Over five hundred interventional procedures are done yearly that include PCIs (primary, rescue and elective), valvuloplasties, Closures (PDA, ASD), coarctation of aorta repair, renal and carotid angioplasties, ablation therapy, ICD implant and cardiac assist devices.

This institute regularly organizes interventional cardiology workshops to demonstrate the current and future techniques that are available for the performance of percutaneous intravascular and intracardiac interventions. In recently held CDC 2003 guest faculty was invited from America, Europe, Fareast along with local faculty members with live coverage of cases online world over at www.cdc2003.com.
