Teaching is being provided in the Institute at several levels.

Undergraduate medical students rotation for the three medical colleges in Karachi. Postgraduate and Cardiology Fellowship (FCPS and Equivalent Post-FCPS and Equivalent) Undergraduates Nursing Students rotation with the four nursing schools in Karachi. Postgraduate Nursing students. (Diploma in Cardiac Nursing - 1 year). Cardiology Technicians (BSC) 2 years. Other paramedical staff.

NICVD is recognized as a Postgraduate Teaching institution by the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC), the college of Physicians & Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP) and the Karachi University (KU).

Requirements for Post Fellowship:       FCPS in Medicine, Paeds, Surgery, Anesthesia or PMDC, recognized FCPS equivalent. POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN CARDIAC NURSING AT NICVD:

Applications are invited for a training course in Diploma Cardiac Nursing at NICVD, Starting from october of each year

The course includes teaching classes, Tutorials, Practical learning and Clinical tours for a period of one year. (The admission fee is Rs.1,000/= (One Thousand only). An amount of Rs. 2,000/= shall be taken from each candidate as a Security, to be refunded at the end of the course. A no Objection Certificate is required from the institution where the candidate is presently working to be able to understake a whole time training at the NICVD. All interested male and female Nurses, under 40 years of age, with experience in General Nursing may apply. These years training in General Nursing will be preferred. Forms are available from your local nursing office or from Matron office in the NICVD. Free accommodation is available for females and males from outside Karachi. LIBRARY:

Library in NICVD was established in 1974. It is situated on the first floor of the Institute. Collection of books include the latest in adult Cardiology, Paediatric Cardiology, cardiac Surgery and Anaesthesia. The following periodicals, dating as far back as 1970 are a few of the many that can be obtained.
